AhlulBayt News Agency: Iranian parliamentarians are scheduled to meet with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, on Wednesday, continuing the annual tradition of seeking his guidance following the election of the Parliament’s speaker.
According to IRNA, during the latest parliamentary session, three candidates vied for the position: Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf, Ali Nikzad, and Hamid-Reza Haji-Babaei. After the voting process, Qalibaf secured the speakership with 219 votes, while Nikzad and Haji-Babaei each received 111 votes, earning positions as the first and second deputy speakers, respectively.
The upcoming meeting with Ayatollah Khamenei is expected to provide strategic direction for the newly elected parliamentary leadership and outline priorities for legislative efforts in the coming term.
